VP of Variable Ops

Eric Barbosa currently holds the position of Vice President of Variable Operations at Cavender Auto Group in San Antonio, Texas. He has been in the automotive industry for over 24 years, starting in sales at a dealership in Victorville, California, in 1999. He quickly moved up to management, with most of his career spent in leadership roles. He has held the positions of Internet Manager, Finance Director, New and Pre-Owned Director, and then became General Sales Manager at Randall Reed's Planet Ford in 2012. From there, he became a General Manager at RFJ Auto Group in Texas, overseeing three rooftops.

After spending four years in that role under the mentorship of Rick Ford CEO RFJ auto and Charlie Nixon COO of Sam Pack Ford, he left to become a Managing Partner/Dealer Principal for Henson Ford, Henson CDJR, and Henson Chevy GMC in 2018. During his time at Henson, he consistently maintained 130%+ sales effectiveness across all three brands and built a marketing powerhouse that became the #1 viewed dealership on social media in the nation. The marketing team produced over 10,000 leads per month through social media and community engagement strategies.

He was recognized by Automotive News as a 2022 All-Star for Fixed Ops and for his efforts in hiring women in the workplace. Under his leadership, 50% of the dealership's employees across all brands were women, earning recognition with a Diversity and Inclusion Award from General Motors.

During his time as a partner and Dealer Principal at Henson, the company achieved record net profits, high employee retention, and top customer service scores from 2018 to 2023. Building strong teams, engaging with the community, and staying consistent were key to his success during the past decade in executive leadership.

He left Henson in early 2023 to join Cavender Auto Group as Vice President, pursuing the next step in his career. He is now responsible for variable operations and marketing across the organization’s eight rooftops.
